TelmoMiel

TelmoMiel's works of art are extremely creative, realistic, humorous, colorful, cheerful and playful. Two great talents of Dutch origin conquer the world with fantasy and colour!

TelmoMiel consists of the creative duo Telmo Pieper (Rotterdam, 1989) and Miel Krutzmann (Amsterdam, 1984). These two talented artists have met at the Willem de Kooning Academy where they studied from 2006-2010. Since 2007 the duo is working together under the name TelmoMiel. Under this name they’re very active in making impressive murals and paintings characterized by a very unique character.

This uniqueness in their art is formed due the two different styles of the artists. The work of Miel is romantic and has picturesque features, the work of Telmo is humorous, provocative and naughty. With spray cans and paint these two styles are combined to create photorealistic, surreal and abstract work. All with free hand. Fantasy and reality flow nicely together in their art.

The murals of TemoMiel are impressive. Using bright colors and working on large size ensures that neighbourhoods, galleries and events brighten up. By working on large size the image is put in the centre of attention. The interpretation of the work is up to the spectator who is challenged to use their own imagination for the symbolism behind the work. For TelmoMiel it’s important that a work of art is especially beautiful.

In May 2014 TelmoMiel made the mural ' A Glove Story ' during the Walls Talk International Graffiti Meeting in Sabadell (Spain). The duo is very proud of this wall. This because in ' A Glove Story ' the two styles of the artists come together very well and most importantly, reinforce each other. The cute little fat bird of Telmo and Miel’s fragmented skull (which can be placed in the long tradition of painting) provide a dynamic picture in which the trademark of TelmoMiel is well reflected.

' A Glove Story ' is part of a series called ' Glove Stories '. During Art Basel in Miami (2014) the duo created the mural ' Glove Me Tender ' and on April 24th, all results will be on display during the opening of the exhibition ' Glove Stories ' in the Street Art Gallery in Dortmund.

The duo has gained many recognition nationally- and internationally. Partly because they are very productive as street artists. They visited places like Dubai, New York, Antwerp, Malta and Beirut to create out most stunning murals. But also during the many exhibitions and events they get invited to, their paintings attract attention.

The print we sell is a picture of the mural TelmoMiel made in Spain

Our previous collaboration with the duo resulted in the impressive installation ' Tolerance ' that was showed during the Museumnight in the Amsterdam Museum. Telmo and Miel are pure muralists. Painting a wall gives them the real feeling of freedom. The duo has therefore chosen to print 'A Glove Story' on paper. This mural is the duo’s favourite. And we are therefore very pleased that we are able to offer you one of the jewels of TelmoMiel. With this print you literally get the original wall in your home.
