DAY ONE street art festival from October 2-6 2013 showed more than fifteen (inter)national artists. Within a week they created their amazing wallpaintings on various buildings in the Luchtbal district. Including the station, the cultural center, three schools, a few garages and residential blocks were painted by the artists.

Bjørn van Poucke, curator of DAY ONE, explains the name of the festival: "People often think that street art is something recent, a hype in recent years. But this artform is actually always been there. Think of the paintings in the caves of Lascaux, France. Street art has been around since prehistoric times: since DAY 1 of humanity"
Both national and international artists were represented: Pixel Pancho (Italy), Phlegm (United Kingdom), TelmoMiel, Steve Locatelli, Bue The Warrior, Klaas Van der Linden, Farm Prod, A Squid Called Sebastian, Strip, Jaune, Bustart, Zaira, Chase, Wafke, Caz, Maiz Baum -Love, Gun T, P - Nis, Bird, RLZ, Aerosol Kings, NYC, Heavyweight, Sheik2, AAC, Jahz, Kanter, Asit. While the artists were painting, kids and seniors were also busy giving their neighborhood more color.
